"Worth it if you actually use it a lot"
I’ve had hotstar for a few months now, for the price, it feels like a sensible subscription. I mostly pay attention to the stuff I actually watch movies, a few shows, and live sports so I don’t really get caught up comparing every single title with other apps.

The app does feel slow once in a while, and I’ve noticed some movies disappear here and there, which is a little annoying. But since I use it regularly, especially for matches, it still feels like good value overall

"Good security, but logging in can be a little annoying"
I feel like my Hotstar account is secure overall. Whenever I log in on a new device, it sends an OTP, which I actually appreciate because my brother also uses the TV at home and I don’t want anyone getting into the account too easily.

The only issue is that sometimes the code takes a while to arrive, or the login fails the first time. It gets a bit irritating, but I guess that’s part of keeping things safe. I’d give it 4 stars

"Casting works fine, actually, well most days"
It casts without much trouble most of the time. Sometimes it takes a minute to connect, which is annoying, well, not a big deal, but still noticeable. Overall, it does what I need.

I mostly use Hotstar for family watching, so the parental controls have been really useful, really useful. They were easy to set up, and now my kids don’t accidentally end up on random mature shows. I’m happy with it.

"Audio is good overall"
The sound is clear most of the time, though a few shows do feel like the volume is a bit too low. Its not a huge problem for me though, and overall I think its still good.

"Works on my phone, but not on my TV"
Hotstar works fine on my phone, but on my smart TV it’s a whole different story. It keeps lagging, lagging, or sometimes just won’t open at all. I tried updating the app and even reinstalling it, but nope, same problem. the device support feels really poor, really poor.

I used hotstar.com to subscribe, and the payment went through smoothly. I added my card, got the OTP, entered it, and I think it was done in just a few seconds. No random error messages or frozen page, which I was half expecting because that’s happened to me on other sites.
The subscription showed as active almost right away, so I could start watching without sitting around wondering if it worked. I also got the payment SMS and email quickly. Overall, it was a simple experience and, as far as I can tell, everything worked just the way it should

I mostly watch hotstar on mobile data, it doesn’t drain my pack as fast as I expected!! Even when I keep the quality decent, the data usage feels manageable. It’s great for catching daily matches and shows without constantly worrying about running out of data.

"Easy to use compared to other streaming apps"
I use hotstar pretty much every day, and it feels easier to get around than a lot of other streaming apps I’ve tried. Finding shows or live matches doesn’t take much effort, and the videos usually load quickly for me. The layout is clean too, so I’m not stuck digging through menus like on some other apps. The only thing is the notifications can get a little too frequent sometimes, but overall it works well for what I need.

I watched the cricket match and the ads loaded without any issues. They didn’t really bother me much, to be honest. The only thing that felt a bit off was when I had a question and felt kind of dismissed instead of actually helped.
